Privacy Policy

This explains what Bravo Zulu Auction House, operated by BZ Bids, collects and how it is used.
What we collect
- Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Your listings, photos, descriptions, and bids.
- If you sell, the PayPal.me username you choose to add so buyers can pay you, and the ZIP code and package details you enter so postage can be calculated.
- If you win an item, the name and shipping address you enter at checkout, which is shared with the seller so they can ship it.
- Messages you send to the buyer or seller of an order. Only the two of you see them, and our team may read them to resolve a problem with the order.
- Searches you save, so we can email you new matching listings (you can turn these alerts off or delete the search at any time).
- Basic technical data our hosting provider records, such as IP address and request logs.
- A scrambled (one-way hashed) form of your IP address when you sign up, create a listing, or bid. We can't turn it back into your address; we only compare these to spot sellers bidding on their own items.
We do not collect payment card numbers or bank details. We do not process payments.
How we use it
- To run auctions and show bids, prices, and listings.
- To email you about your account and activity: password resets, being outbid, and auctions you won or sold.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
What other people can see
- Your display name appears on your listings and in bid history.
- When an auction ends with a winner, the seller and the winner each see the other's name and email, and the winner sees the seller's payment usernames, so they can complete the sale. This is not shown to anyone else.
- We never show your password or your maximum bid to other users.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use service providers to run the site: hosting (Vercel), our database (Neon), image storage (Vercel Blob), and email delivery (Resend). They handle data only to provide those services. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices
You can update your payment usernames and turn off emails in Settings, and delete your account yourself at the bottom of the Settings page. Deleting removes your name, email, and payment details; records of completed sales are kept, without your contact details, where needed to resolve disputes, handle taxes, or meet legal obligations. To correct your information or ask anything else, use our contact form.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
The site is for people 18 and older.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
